Jagan calls on YSRCP cadre to gear up for local body elections

YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has directed party leaders to prepare for upcoming local body elections by strengthening grassroots committees and social media presence. The party plans to launch a door-to-door campaign to highlight its past welfare programs while criticizing the current coalition government.

This signals a major mobilization effort by the primary opposition party in Andhra Pradesh to regain political momentum at the local level.
YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday asked party leaders and cadre to gear up for the forthcoming local body elections, asserting that the party would emerge victorious if the polls were held freely and fairly.
Addressing a meeting of key leaders at the party’s central office in Tadepalli, Mr. Jagan directed them to identify strong candidates immediately and ensure that the YSRCP fielded candidates for every local body seat. He warned that leaders would be held accountable if the party failed to field candidates in their respective areas.
He said the party had strengthened its grassroots organisation during its nearly 30 months in Opposition and had, for the first time, constituted committees down to the village level.
