Jadavpur University Vice-Chancellor has issued an order dissolving the committee that allowed a student event on campus, which was attended by All India Students Association (AISA) national president Neha Bora . A new panel has been formed in its place. The order came a day after the event was held inside the campus. Vice-Chancellor Chiranjib Bhattacharya issued a notice on October 7, 2026, and replaced the old committee with eight new members.

The event, ‘Gen Z Movement: Unity of Generation and Resistance’, on Monday brought forth many current issues such as the scrapping of the National Education Policy 2020, the workings of the National Testing Agency, proposed Indian Statistical Institute Bill, voter crisis issue, and the Special Intensive Revision. The event had brought together students from various universities, colleges, student bodies, and Left student wings.
