Trainer Pesi Shroff’s ward Jaandaar, ridden by Vivek G, continued his winning streak by winning the S.A. Poonawalla Million, the stellar attraction of Sunday’s (Sept. 13) races. The winner is owned by Mr. & Mrs. Vijay B. Shirke & Mr. Jay V. Shirke rep. Horse Haven Breeding and Racing Pvt. Ltd.
The RWITC stewards, along with trainers and jockeys, observed a minute’s silence in the paddock to pay tribute to yesteryear’s champion jockey Nelson Reuben, who passed away in Kolkata on Saturday. Reuben achieved a significant milestone in his illustrious career when he partnered Topmost to victory in the Indian Derby in 1974.
