K.M.K. Khalilur Rahman, 59, the eldest son of Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) president K.M. Kader Mohideen , died in Tiruchi on Saturday (August 1, 2026) after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife Rashida Banu, a son, and a daughter.
As a tuberculosis scientist, he had worked in Saudi Arabia and Dubai for a while. He undertook various research projects during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay and DMK president M.K. Stalin spoke to Mr. Mohideen and offered their condolences.
