IUM to help in providing knowledge on water resources management

The International University of Management (IUM) in Namibia is positioning itself to assist with water resource management ahead of the 2028 World Basin Summit. The university aims to promote knowledge sharing and sustainable practices to address climate change and water scarcity.
Why it matters
Effective water management is critical for regional stability and climate resilience in arid nations like Namibia.
The head of the International University of Management’s (IUM’s) Institute of Water Resource Management says the institute can assist with water resource management.
Kaliki Kambanda says IUM is able to facilitate the sharing of knowledge to overcome challenges associated with water management in the country.
Her remarks come on the heels of a recent announcement by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform that Namibia has been selected to host the 2028 World Basin Summit of the International Network Basins Organisation (Inbo).
Kambanda told The Namibian on Tuesday that having the summit brought to Namibia will be a great opportunity for Namibia to elevate the importance of integrated management of the country’s water resource as well as to highlight issues of management through knowledge and skills empowerment.
