Issue birth, death certificates at Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation office from today: Vinay Kulkarni to officials
Dharwad MLA Vinay Kulkarni has ordered the local municipal corporation to begin issuing birth and death certificates directly from the Dharwad office to reduce public inconvenience. He also reviewed ongoing infrastructure projects and mandated biometric attendance for sanitation workers to improve city maintenance.
Why it matters
Local administrative reforms and infrastructure oversight are critical for improving public service delivery and urban governance in Indian municipalities.
Dharwad MLA and former Minister Vinay Kulkarni has directed officials of the Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC) to make arrangements for issuing birth and death certificates at the corporation office in Dharwad from Thursday (September 3).
Mr. Kulkarni, who has returned to Dharwad after a gap of five years following a court order, held a review meeting of development works and various departments under the Dharwad Assembly constituency in the district on Wednesday (September 2). He said the move was intended to ease the difficulties faced by Dharwad’s residents in obtaining the certificates.
He said applicants could approach the corporation office concerned with the required documents and obtain the certificates in accordance with the rules. Officials and staff had been instructed to ensure that the process was carried out smoothly, he said.
