Israel's military said on Sunday (September 20, 2026) it had arrested a man suspected of killing an Israeli, reported to be a settler, in the occupied West Bank.
"IDF soldiers apprehended the terrorist who carried out the shooting attack," the army said in a statement, adding that it located him at a hospital.
The army said a soldier had earlier shot and wounded the suspected assailant at the scene of the incident near Ramallah in the central West Bank.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had vowed to hunt down the man suspected of the "murderous attack".
A local hospital confirmed the death of the Israeli.
Israel Ganz, head of the Yesha Council- an organisation representing Israeli settlements in the West Bank-said the man was a settler.
