ISKCON to hold four-day Janmashtami celebrations

ISKCON Visakhapatnam will organise a four-day Sri Krishna Janmashtami Utsav from September 3 to 6 at its new temple building in Sagar Nagar, the organisation said on Tuesday.
The celebrations will begin on September 3 with bhajans by devotees from Mayapur, followed by a Telugu discourse on Krishna Leela and a cultural programme.
The main celebrations on September 4, Janmashtami day, include Mangala Arati, Darshan Arati, Akhanda Harinama Sankirtan. The Utlotsav, involving the breaking of a butter pot suspended 30 feet above the ground, and cultural competitions.
The Maha Abhishekam of Lord Krishna will be held at 11.30 p.m., followed by the midnight Mangala Arati .
