SEREMBAN: A Pahang DAP leader has asked if Sanusi Nor is playing non-Malay voters for fools in citing his Chinese ancestry to fend off accusations of racism over his controversial Tanah Melayu remarks.

Pahang DAP chief Lee Chin Chen said Sanusi's remarks were made in his capacity as the Perikatan Nasional election director while campaigning for the opposition coalition, China Press reported.

"Where his grandfather comes from is therefore irrelevant. The real question is why the issue of Malay land and ethnic political dominance suddenly become his most urgent concerns whenever an election approaches," he was quoted as saying.
