As a teenager, I attended a math-specialized class at the most prestigious school in Hungary. We had eight hours of mathematics every week, plus special sessions to prepare for national and international competitions. I even met my ex-wife at a week-long camp at Lake Balaton, where our only job was to work on IMO problems. Much of my youth went into solving competition problems.
