Is BJP implementing fee reimbursement scheme in States ruled by party?: Ponnam Prabhakar

Telangana Minister Ponnam Prabhakar defended the Congress government's fee reimbursement scheme, claiming it has cleared pending dues and improved the system. He challenged BJP leaders to compare their state-level education policies with those of the Telangana government.
Why it matters
This reflects ongoing political friction between the Congress and BJP regarding education funding and state-level welfare implementation.
Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said the Telangana government was taking steps to ensure that fee reimbursement was released before the beginning of every academic year so that poor students did not face difficulties in pursuing higher education.
Speaking to the media at Perkapalli in Saidapur mandal, as part of the “Palle Palleku Ponnam Prabhakar – Palle Pallalo Praja Palana” programme on Tuesday, the Minister alleged that the previous BRS government in Telangana and the BJP-led government at the Centre had failed to address students’ fee reimbursement problems.
He said the Congress government, after assuming office, had cleared pending fee reimbursement dues and introduced a system of making advance payments to prevent students from facing difficulties in the future. The government was also paying the old dues in phases, he said.
