The growing water shortage in Sindh is a far more pressing concern than debates over modern irrigation techniques. According to figures acknowledged by the Sindh and federal governments, around 18 million acres of agricultural land remain uncultivated because of water scarcity, while only 8.2 million acres are under cultivation.
