Ireland power to deserved victory over South Africa

The Ireland women's rugby team secured a victory against South Africa in the WXV Global Series in Cape Town. Ireland dominated the second half after a competitive first half, scoring six tries in total.
Why it matters
This match represents a significant international fixture in women's rugby, highlighting the growth of the sport in both nations.
Six-try Ireland outgunned South Africa at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town on Saturday, overcoming their hosts in the first of two WXV Global Series showdowns.
In their first meeting in 20 years, and only the second in their history, the tourists dominated the second half after getting to the interval with a 21-17 advantage.
Linda Djougang (2), Aoife Dalton, Beibhinn Parsons, Jane Clohessy and Erin King got the tries in a topsy-turvy encounter that Ireland deservedly won.
The visitors got over in the seventh minute from their first meaningful attack. Ireland laid the platform with a strong lineout, and after good work from wing Robyn O'Connor and second row Jane Clohessy, Dalton dotted down her eighth international try. Dannah O'Brien nailed the conversion.
