Iranian Missile Attack Injured 8 US Marines in Strait of Hormuz 2 Weeks Ago

Eight US Marines were injured when an Iranian anti-ship cruise missile struck a maritime vessel they were operating in the Strait of Hormuz on Sept. 14, 2026, in an incident that the Pentagon did not publicly disclose at the time, NBC News reported.

Three US officials told NBC News that the Marines belonged to a battalion landing team and that the team included seven enlisted personnel and one officer. The vessel was a non-commissioned commercial or maritime ship rather than a US Navy warship.
