According to assessments cited by The Jerusalem Post , Tehran seeks to involve its own forces, the Lebanese group Hezbollah, Hamas, Yemen’s Houthis, and pro-Iranian armed groups in Iraq in a single campaign.
Israeli assessments indicate that the plan envisages simultaneous actions on several fronts. Such a scenario would differ from the Hamas attack on October 7, when Iran’s other allies did not launch coordinated large-scale actions simultaneously with the attack from the Gaza Strip.
Documents seized from Hamas in the Gaza Strip after the attack contained instructions on the need to “connect and prepare external fronts” — in particular, in Lebanon, Syria, and Sinai. They also referred to agreeing in advance on communication mechanisms for peacetime and war.
