Iran attacks US targets in Middle East after four reportedly killed at wedding celebration
A military confrontation has escalated between the US and Iran following a deadly strike on a wedding in southern Iran. In retaliation, Iran launched drone and missile attacks against American targets across the Middle East, prompting US officials to call for increased economic sanctions.

US Central Command told the BBC it's "looking into" Iranian media reports about the strikes , but added "the US military never targets civilians, unlike the IRGC".
A weapons expert consulted by BBC Verify said images shared online following the attack show fragments of a cruise missile used by US forces .
