The State government on Sunday transferred and posted several IPS officers, including 2004-batch officer Kanthi Rana Tata and 2005-batch officer Vishal Gunni, who were suspended in connection with the actress Kadambari Jethwani case. The rejig also included the appointment of new Superintendents of Police (SPs) for three districts.

The government had recently revoked the suspension of Mr. Tata, who was Commissioner of Police, Vijayawada, and Mr. Gunni, who was serving as Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Vijayawada. They had faced allegations of illegally confining and harassing Ms. Jethwani and her family in connection with a case. Both officers had been awaiting postings after their suspension was revoked.
