IPS officer trainees visit Visakhapatnam Port

A group of 22 IPS officer trainees visited the Visakhapatnam Port Authority to study maritime security and port infrastructure. The visit included briefings on cargo handling, solar power initiatives, and coastal security frameworks.

A contingent of 22 IPS officer trainees, including two foreign officers, from the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy, Hyderabad, visited the Visakhapatnam Port Authority(VPA) on Monday as part of their maritime security module training.
VPA Chairperson J. S. Bindra welcomed the delegation and gave a presentation on the port’s infrastructure, cargo handling capabilities and its contribution to the country’s economic growth.
Senior port officials briefed the trainee officers on key operational initiatives, including mechanisation, solar power generation, the use of treated water from sewage treatment plants for industrial purposes, and newly developed facilities such as the International Cruise Terminal and the Truck Parking Terminal.
