Investigators sift fatal fire scene for clues to cause
A fatal house fire in West Auckland has resulted in one death, prompting an ongoing investigation by police and fire services. Emergency crews from across the region responded to the blaze, which was fully engulfed upon their arrival.

Three fire investigators remain on the scene of a house fire in the West Auckland suburb of Henderson that killed one person.
Emergency services were called to Forest Hill Road about 8.40pm on Saturday.
Crews from Henderson, Glen Eden, Te Atatū, Auckland City, Titirangi, Ōtara, Avondale and Mount Roskill responded.
On Sunday police confirmed one person had died.
Acting Detective Senior Sergeant James Kim said the cause of the fire was unexplained at this stage.
Police will be carrying out a scene examination at the house, including working with fire investigators.
