Internet connection disrupted for about 2,000 in Bishan, Thomson: NetLink Trust
NetLink Trust said fibre cables were damaged during construction works
[SINGAPORE] About 2,000 Internet connections in Bishan and Thomson were disrupted due to fibre cables that were damaged during construction works, NetLink Trust said on its website on Sept 15.
The company said investigations show that multiple NetLink fibre cables were damaged during road widening works by a third-party contractor, which it did not engage.
NetLink Trust designs, builds, owns and operates the passive fibre network infrastructure of Singapore’s Nationwide Broadband Network.
“Our recovery teams remain on site and are working continuously to restore affected services. Service restoration has commenced, with affected connections being progressively restored,” it said.
Earlier, in a 5pm statement, NetLink Trust said that services were expected to be completely restored by the morning of Sept 16, barring unforeseen circumstances.
