Interior Ministry Tasks PITT Members On Practical Use Of AI Skills

The Nigerian Ministry of Interior has completed an 'AI Zero to Hero' training program for its Project Implementation Task Team. Officials are encouraged to use these new digital skills to improve research, productivity, and evidence-based reporting within the government.
Why it matters
This reflects a growing trend of public sector digital transformation in developing nations, aiming to increase administrative efficiency through emerging technology.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, has tasked members of the Project Implementation Task Team (PITT) with applying the knowledge acquired from their Artificial Intelligence (AI) training to improve research, productivity and reporting within the Ministry.
Ajani gave the charge at the conclusion of a five-day intensive “AI Zero to Hero” training programme organised for PITT members at Digital Bridge, Utako, Abuja.
The Permanent Secretary said the success of the training should not be measured by the completion of assignments or receipt of certificates, but by the ability of participants to apply their new skills to produce evidence-based reports, analytical assessments and research relevant to their official responsibilities, a statement by the Head, Press and Public Relations, Mrs. Mary Ali, said on Thursday.
