Inspections in multiplexes in Keralam to continue

Kerala's Food and Civil Supplies Minister has ordered continued inspections of multiplexes following widespread complaints regarding overpricing and poor food quality. Authorities have already registered 25 cases, including instances of expired food and inaccurate product weights.

Even as overpricing of food items at multiplexes continued to be a debate in the State’s public sphere, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Anoop Jacob said that instructions have been issued to ensure follow-up inspections in multiplexes. Strict action will be taken against any establishment found violating the law. The Minister stated that if violations for which ‘improvement notices’ have already been issued are repeated, cases will be registered and legal proceedings initiated.
