Inside Tooro King Oyo’s final journey
The Tooro Kingdom in Uganda is preparing for the final funeral rites of King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukiidi IV, who passed away in the US. A nine-day mourning period will culminate in his burial on September 12, with a public procession planned to allow subjects to pay their respects.

Hundreds of subjects of Tooro Kingdom are expected to line the roads from Kyegegwa District to Fort Portal City on today as the remains of their King, Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukiidi IV, are returned home for the final funeral rites.
The 34-year-old King died in the US last Thursday, and his body is expected to arrive at Entebbe International Airport today morning before being airlifted to Kyegegwa District and transported by road to Karuziika Palace in Fort Portal.
