The Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), a political pressure group aligned with the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM), has launched a nationwide mobilisation drive to collect 25 million signatures in support of its national chairman, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, as its preferred candidate for the presidency in the 2031 General Election.
