Inland Revenue puts Auckland contractor Total Civil into liquidation

A civil construction company that worked on Auckland’s City Rail Link stations and other major infrastructure projects has been placed into liquidation after an application by Inland Revenue.

Kristal Pihama and Leon Bowker of KPMG were this week appointed liquidators of Total Civil, an Auckland-based contractor founded in 2015 by Stephen Thom.

The Herald has approached Thom for comment.

“The appointment was made on the application of the Commissioner of Inland Revenue,” the insolvency notice said.

Pihama said: “We are still in the early stages of our investigation but, from our initial inquiries, we understand Total Civil had 18 employees as at the date of liquidation.”
