Injured rock eagle-owl rescued and released in Sathya Sai District
A protected rock eagle-owl was rescued near Dharmavaram and treated under the HANUMAN Wildlife Rescue Initiative. Following its recovery, the bird was successfully released back into the Nelakota Reserve Forest.

A rock eagle-owl, a Schedule I protected species under the Wildlife (Protection) Act 1972, was rescued after being found injured near Dharmavaram in Sri Sathya Sai district on Tuesday (August 4, 2026). After treatment, it was released into the wild.
Forest officials said the rescue was carried out under the HANUMAN Wildlife Rescue Initiative, which ensured the bird received immediate veterinary care. After recovering, the owl was released into the Nelakota Reserve Forest in the district.
