INEC uploads 96% of Osun election results on IReV as official collation begins

Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party has been declared the winner of the Osun State governorship election in Nigeria. INEC reported that over 98% of results were uploaded to the IReV portal, ensuring transparency in the collation process.
Why it matters
The use of digital result viewing portals is a significant step for electoral transparency and democratic stability in Nigeria.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has uploaded 98.35 percent of the polling unit results from the Osun governorship election to its Result Viewing Portal (IReV).
As of 8:30am on Sunday, checks by TheCable showed that results have been submitted from 3,701 out of the 3,763 polling units in the state.
The uploads commenced after the conclusion of voting and counting at several polling units.
IReV is INEC’s online platform for publishing scanned copies of polling unit result sheets, allowing voters, political parties, candidates, observers and other stakeholders to view results as they are uploaded independently.
