INEC: BVAS rejection of old PVCs during Osun mock accreditation promptly resolved

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says an initial challenge involving the rejection of some old permanent voter cards (PVCs) by the bimodal voter accreditation system (BVAS) during the mock voter accreditation exercise in Osun was promptly resolved.
Joash Amupitan, chairman of the commission, spoke on Saturday while briefing journalists after monitoring the exercise at selected polling units across the state.
Amupitan said the successful conduct of the mock accreditation exercise reinforced the commission’s preparedness to conduct a credible, free and fair governorship election in Osun on August 15.
He said the exercise was organised to test the functionality and efficiency of the BVAS ahead of the poll, noting that the issue involving some old PVCs was resolved immediately.
