Industry-integrated PhD, research programme launched
Telangana Life Sciences, BITS Pilani, and RMIT University have launched an industry-integrated PhD program to bridge the gap between academia and the life sciences sector. The initiative allows professionals in Global Capability Centres to pursue doctoral research while maintaining their current employment.

Telangana Life Sciences, BITS Pilani and Australia’s RMIT University have jointly launched an industry-integrated PhD and research programme.
The objective is to bring the industry and academia closer and strengthen research-led innovation in the Life Sciences sector. The programme will enable professionals from Life Sciences Global Capability Centres (GCCs) to undertake globally supervised doctoral research aligned with real-world industry challenges while continuing in their professional roles.
The aim is to create a stronger pipeline of research talent, accelerate industry-led innovation and foster solutions to pressing scientific and technological challenges in the Life Sciences sector, IT and Industries Minister D.Sridhar Babu’s office said following the launch event in which the Minister, RMIT University Vice-Chancellor Alec Cameron and BITS Pilani Group VC V. Ramgopal Rao participated.
