TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The death toll from the earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Indonesia, continues to rise. As of Sunday, August 23, 2026, the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) has recorded a total of 91 fatalities."The death toll stands at 91, an increase of four from the previous day," said Berton Suar Pelita Panjaitan, Acting Head of the BNPB's Center for Disaster Data, Information, and Communication, during an online press conference.Berton reported that the highest number of fatalities occurred in Manggarai Regency (32 deaths) and East Manggarai Regency (31 deaths).
