NEW DELHI: Indian Youth Congress has announced a ‘Chalo Delhi’ mobilisation on October 12, urging people to join its campaign to defend the Constitution and democracy amid the Congress-led Opposition’s allegations of electoral irregularities and its demand for accountability from the Election Commission.The announcement comes amid a series of protests by Rahul Gandhi and other INDIA bloc leaders against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.In a series of posts on X, the youth wing used the slogan “It's NOW or NEVER” and accused the BJP of rigging elections with the help of a “compromised Election Commission”. It called on people to stand up peacefully for their voting rights, freedom and constitutional protections.The organisation also invoked Mahatma Gandhi and India's freedom struggle, arguing that the country belongs to its people and not to any political party.
