India-West Indies ODI: Free drinking water, curbs on prices for snacks at stadium

The Thiruvananthapuram Corporation has reviewed arrangements for spectators ahead of the India-West Indies ODI scheduled to be held in the city on Sunday. Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Mayor V.V. Rajesh said four litres of drinking water per person would be provided free of cost at the venue.

Following complaints that some vendors had charged exorbitant prices after drinking water supplies ran out inside the stadium during a previous match, the Corporation has intervened to ensure that spectators have access to sufficient free drinking water, he said. Similarly, exorbitant prices for snacks and soft drinks would not be permitted at the Karyavattom Greenfield International Stadium.
