Why it matters
This match concludes a high-scoring series that highlights the competitive nature of international cricket and the performance of key players ahead of future tournaments.
Shai Hope's unbeaten 162 powered West Indies to a five-wicket consolation win over India in the third and final ODI at the PCA International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh, chasing down 352 with 10 balls to spare. Hope's fifth century against India, and his highest score in the format, overshadowed KL Rahul's belligerent ton as the visitors kept Gill's bowlers on the back foot from the start and took the chase away in the final overs. KL Rahul's 129 off 87 deliveries, an innings laced with 10 fours and 7 sixes, had earlier taken India past 350 after a poor start. Keemo Paul picked up Rohit Sharma for 92, while India captain Shubman Gill and talisman Virat Kohli both fell inside the first three overs.
