India’s first dedicated Quantum and AI University campus to come up in Amaravati
Andhra Pradesh will host India's first dedicated Quantum and AI University campus in Amaravati, funded by a central government grant. The institution will focus on deep-tech fields like semiconductor fabrication and quantum computing, with temporary classes starting in September 2026.

Amaravati is set to host India’s first dedicated Quantum and Artificial Intelligence (AI) University campus, with the Government of Andhra Pradesh approving the establishment of an advanced technology campus by the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Deemed-to-be University under the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY).
The decision was taken at the CRDA meeting chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at the Secretariat on Thursday.
The campus will be developed on 8.5 acres with a proposed investment of ₹730.70 crore over five years, fully proposed to be funded through a Government of India grant-in-aid from MeitY.
The campus will focus on Quantum Technologies, AI, Semiconductors and other emerging deep-tech areas, integrating education, research, skilling, innovation and entrepreneurship.
