India-NZ FTA kicks in from Oct 20 with duty-free access for all Indian exports
India and New Zealand have finalized a Free Trade Agreement set to take effect on October 20, 2026. The deal grants India duty-free access for all exports to New Zealand while reducing tariffs on various New Zealand goods entering India.

The India-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement (FTA) will come into force on October 20, coinciding with Dussehra, commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal said on Monday, with India securing duty-free access for 100 per cent of its exports to New Zealand.Goyal made the announcement during a virtual interaction with New Zealand trade and investment minister Todd McClay in New Delhi.The agreement was signed in the capital on April 27 after negotiations between the two countries concluded in nine months.“I’m delighted that we are taking forward the next important milestone in our bilateral economic partnership: the entry into force of the India-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement, which will come into force on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra on 20th October 2026,” Goyal said.India gets duty-free access for all exportsUnder the agreement, 100 per cent of Indian exports to New Zealand will receive duty-free access from the day the FTA comes into…
