NEW DELHI: After calling for expanding and diversifying India’s trade basket with Iran, PM Narendra Modi doubled down on ties with Tehran as he discussed with President Masoud Pezeshkian India-Iran “friendship” and agreed the two countries should move forward with a “long-term and win-win strategy”.The leaders met for the second time in 2 weeks, walking hand-in-hand at the BRICS Business Forum meeting alongside Russian President Vladimir Putin. Modi reiterated that all issues related to the West Asia conflict must be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy.“From Bishkek to Delhi, the productive discussions continue. Happy to have met Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of Iran. This visit is more special because it is his first visit to India,” said Modi in a post on X, adding India remains steadfast in its commitment to the pursuit of enduring peace.Pezeshkian is the first Iranian president to visit India in 8 years.
