India Deep Tech Alliance invests ₹2,170 crore in 56 firms

The India Deep Tech Alliance (IDTA)’s members, which include individual and corporate investors from India and abroad, invested ₹2,170 crore in 56 deep-tech firms in India over the last year, the grouping announced at the Semicon India 2026 event. The investments were made “independently by individual IDTA members in accordance with their respective investment strategies and processes,” the alliance said in a statement.
Principal Scientific Adviser to the government Ajay Kumar Sood said the investments in the firms in question showed that the “vision” behind the ₹1 lakh crore Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) scheme of the Department of Science and Technology was “beginning to translate into measurable action”.
“The RDI Scheme and industry-led initiatives can complement each other in strengthening the pathways through which promising technologies move from the laboratory to the market and create long-term strategic and economic value for India,” Mr. Sood said.
