India calls out lies and falsehoods peddled by Pakistan at UN

India has formally criticized Pakistan at the UN for spreading falsehoods regarding Jammu and Kashmir. Indian representative Mahima Kumari Mewar condemned Pakistan's record on human rights and terrorism, asserting that the region remains an integral part of India.

India criticised Pakistan at the UN, saying it was “regrettable” that Islamabad continued to abuse the platform of the world body by peddling lies and falsehoods about the Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
India exercised its Right of Reply in response to a statement by Pakistan in the Fourth Committee of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) on Friday (October 9, 2026), on the agenda item “Decolonization.” The Committee deals with special political and decolonisation issues.
“It is regrettable that Pakistan continues to abuse this august forum by peddling lies and falsehoods about the Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir,” Mahima Kumari Mewar, Member of Parliament, said.
