In 2025, J&K Saw No Stone-Throwing Incidents, Only 1 Terrorist Recruited

Jammu and Kashmir registered zero incidents of stone-throwing in 2025, according to the Ministry of Defence's 2025-26 Annual Report.According to the report, the Union Territory recorded zero stone-throwing incidents in 2025 and saw local terrorist recruitment plummet to just one, the lowest ever, against 146 in 2021 and 121 in 2022.Sustained counter-terror operations, a tightened security grid along the LoC and the Centre's development push have brought the security situation firmly under control, the report said, while cautioning that the region remains unpredictable.
