Implement Thalliki Vandanam scheme for every eligible student, YSRCP tells A.P. govt.

YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) BC Cell working president Ramesh Goud has urged the Andhra Pradesh government to extend the Thalliki Vandanam scheme to every eligible student, without imposing what he termed ‘restrictive eligibility conditions’.
Addressing the media at the YSRCP Central Office in Tadepalli on Friday, Mr. Goud said no child should be deprived of education due to financial hardship. “The previous YSRCP government had introduced the Amma Vodi scheme to support the education of children from economically weaker families. However, the present government has diluted the scheme by renaming it and limiting the number of beneficiaries,” he alleged.
Citing Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE) data, he said Andhra Pradesh has nearly 87 lakh students. The State government, however, has announced the implementation of Thalliki Vandanam for only 66 lakh students, with an allocation of ₹10,126 crore.
