Immigration lorry crash: Investigation paper to be referred to AGC on Aug 20
Malaysian authorities are referring the investigation of a fatal traffic accident involving an Immigration Department truck to the Attorney General's Chambers. KUALA LUMPUR: The investigation paper on the fatal crash involving an Immigration Department truck, which claimed three lives, will be referred to the Attorney General's Chambers (AGC) on Thursday (Aug 20).
Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Asst Comm Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said the decision was made following discussions with the Kuala Lumpur Prosecution Director.
"The investigation paper will be referred to the head of the General Crime and Public Order Division, AGC, and will be brought by the prosecution director and investigating officer for any charges to be considered," he said in a statement.
ACP Mohd Zamzuri said police had also obtained a one-day remand order for the lorry driver and the driver of the Proton Saga involved in the crash, with the case being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
