The Indian Medical Association’s (IMA) Haryana unit on Tuesday withdrew its call for an indefinite suspension of Ayushman Bharat services from September 16 after Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini assured a delegation that he would look into issues faced by empanelled private hospitals.

Private hospitals under the scheme in Haryana had suspended services to beneficiaries for 24 hours on September 1 over outstanding payments of about ₹1,200 crore and other operational issues.

A delegation of IMA Haryana met Mr. Saini and Haryana’s Bharatiya Janata Party president Archana Gupta on Monday and raised several issues, including what it described as mismanagement in the implementation of the scheme. According to the association, the Chief Minister said steps would be taken to reduce the pendency.
