The Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) held its 15th convocation, awarding degrees to 1,398 students, the largest graduating batch till date, at Kandi, Sangareddy, on Saturday.
The graduating class included students from B.Tech, M.Tech, Ph.D., M.Sc., M.Des., B.Des., M.A., M.S. and Diploma programmes. The institute presented five gold medals and 44 silver medals for outstanding academic performance. The event also marked the graduation of the first batch of B.Tech in IC Design & Technology and the inaugural cohort of the IITH–Deakin University joint doctoral programme. The President of India Gold Medal was awarded to Bonthu Mani Hemanth Reddy from Computer Science and Engineering branch.
Renowned Bharatanatyam exponent and Distinguished Professor in the Liberal Arts department at IITH, Padma Subrahmanyam, was the chief guest.
