IIT Palakkad honours 305 graduates at eighth convocation

As many as 305 students graduated from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Palakkad at its eighth convocation on Saturday (July 18 2026), with degrees awarded across undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes.
The graduating batch comprised 149 BTech., 67 MTech., 46 MSc, 30 PhD and 13 MS (by research) students.
Delivering the convocation address, chief guest Tessy Thomas, former Director General (Aeronautical Systems), Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), said India was witnessing a remarkable transition from importing technologies to exporting innovations.
