IIT Palakkad hosted a hands-on electrical engineering workshop for 44 students and nine teachers from five local schools. The event, titled 'spark it', aimed to bridge the gap between physics classroom theory and practical circuit building.
Why it matters
Promoting STEM education through practical engagement helps bridge the gap between theoretical academic learning and real-world technical application for secondary students.
The Department of Electrical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Palakkad organised a day-long workshop offering school students practical experience in electrical engineering.
Titled ‘spark it – from concepts to circuits’, the workshop brought together 44 students and nine teachers from five schools.
It aimed to connect concepts taught in physics classrooms with practical learning through simple circuits, demonstrations and hands-on activities.
Students from Government Victoria Girls Higher Secondary School, Chittur; Government Technical High School, Marutharoad; Ashramam High School, Malampuzha; Kannadi Higher Secondary School, Kannadi; and Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Chittur, took part in the programme.
