IISER lauded for enhancing India’s scientific research
Dr. G. Satheesh Reddy praised the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs) for their contribution to India's scientific self-reliance at the IISER Tirupati convocation. The institute reported significant growth in research output, citations, and external funding for the 2025-26 academic year.

Defence and aerospace scientist Dr. G. Satheesh Reddy, a member of the National Security Advisory Board of the Government of India, praised the role of Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs) in strengthening India’s scientific capabilities.
Dr. Reddy’s remarks were made at the seventh convocation of IISER Tirupati, held at its Yerpedu campus on Friday (July 10, 2026), where he participated as the chief guest.
Addressing the graduates, he stated that India has moved from being a nation dependent on imported technologies to one that develops and exports them over the last two decades.
