The Northern Regional Police Command has commenced investigations into the deaths of three children whose bodies were discovered in the boot of a vehicle at Kobilmahagu Zoo in the Tamale Metropolis of the Northern Region.

The deceased have been identified as Dauda Abdul Aziz, aged three, Saani Alsharaf, aged five, and Dauda Fadilan, aged seven.

According to a press release signed by the Northern Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police Wisdom Lavoe, the police received a complaint on October 5, 2026, that the children allegedly left home for Islamic classes at about 8 am on Sunday, October 4, 2026, but did not return home.

Efforts by community members to locate them proved unsuccessful until about 5 am on Monday, October 5, when their bodies were discovered inside the boot of a black Hyundai Tucson with registration number AS 1770-14.
