Georgia was the 50th country Macie Strum had visited; her time there reflected more than just a number. Provided by Macie Strum When Macie Strum first began traveling, she was focused on how many countries she would visit. After years of speed-running destinations, she began to appreciate slow travel, revisiting places, and forming deeper connections. Now, having traveled to more than 50 countries, she no longer sees the number as a measure of how well-traveled she is. Earlier this year, as I set foot in country number 50, I expected the milestone to feel significant. Instead, I realized how little the number actually meant. As a teenager, I became obsessed with seeing the world. My first purchase on Amazon was a set of 50 mini flags to study each day.
