Oliver Kharraz. Zocdoc This as-told-to essay is based on a conversation with Oliver Kharraz , the 53-year-old CEO and cofounder of Zocdoc, based in New York City. It's been edited for length and clarity. I grew up in Germany and attended college in Munich. I got an MD and a doctorate in neuroscience. I became the most recent doctor in a 300-year family tradition, and previously practiced clinically. During college, I built my first company. I provided internet access to a few local companies and offered data storage and remote access solutions. I had the choice to either drop out of college and make it internet-ready or sell it. I sold it in 1994.
