Karl Strovink. Blue Bottle Coffee This as-told-to essay is based on a conversation with Karl Strovink, the 52-year-old CEO of Blue Bottle Coffee , who lives between Boston and San Francisco. It's been edited for length and clarity. I started working at Blue Bottle in 2019 as President and COO after more than 11 years at Converse, where my last title was Vice President and General Manager. I've now been CEO of Blue Bottle for more than six years. Here's a day in my life as a bicoastal CEO. As I've gotten older, I've started waking up around 6 a.m. I even wake up early on weekends. I wish I could sleep in, but once an idea pops into my head, I can't stop thinking about it. I wake up excited for the day.
